Even so, what about the already-existing number of minipets around the market? Although we do know that minipets drop in price over time, they will drop even faster if they were dropped from chests. Do you think it will be fair for the players who actually waited three years into getting that White Rabbit or the players who actually paid 100k+50 ectos for that?

I am as constructive as it can be, but can this topic be constructive?

I rarely see any of the lesser minis but just hordes of the more expensive ones like that flying lizard Kuuasdjflksjdlf (could never get that right) in Kamadan.

After a while you just get sick of it, having a "lesser" minipet makes you more original anyway.

No one is being penalized. Being penalize is having 10% tithe on all your money and assets every month. Wouldn't that suck.

It's not as simple as just having gold appear in your inventory. I've gotten 3 of my 3rd year minis...sold any? Nope. I like miniatures so I'm happy to have gotten this gift from Anet, and it nets me no gold whatsoever.

Anet views these items as gifts and nothing more, what people do with their gifts is up to them.

QFT If they replace birthday minis with something else, someone will just be back here whining again about unfair it is all over again. Nothing would have changed.

And like its been said, the minis are rewards, not instant gold. That some folks like some over others and are willing to pay for them is not an issue that can be fixed. If you want minis without forking over gold, mini Black Moa Chick, Ghostly Hero, Mallyx and Polar Bear are all minis you gain by in-game efforts.

Mini's as b-day gifts were introduced as a pat on the back for the vets. They have no use at all other than fun little guys to follow you around. The fact that they have gold value AT ALL is totally player base. They have no merch value. That the fist in series are "free gold" is PLAYER'S CHOICE.

Yes, new players (or those of us who deleted chars before bdays were started lol) have to wait...or buy. That is THEIR CHOICE. Minis are in no way helpful to game play, they're just for fun. IMO whatever Anet gives if it is at all transferable or trade able would become "free gold". 3 years later it's a tad late to be upset about it.

its a pretty standard thing to do for companies to reward loyalty...

i kno for a fact that some companies have 5/10/15, etc year gift awards for their employees/customers jus for workin at teh same company for that many years

basically...
if u want to be rewarded for ur loyalty to anet and gw...
then plz play this game for 3 yrs, then u'll be rewarded
(in other words, theres no way to cheat it, so dun even bother)

I am a vet player and got the game the day it was released, but i constantly deleted my characters, I stuck with my oldest character about a month or so after the release, along with two other PvP only chars. No veteran knew that we would have minipets in a year (i always felt it should have been one mini by account basing age, but then again i don't want 100k+x white minis) and the reason the mini pets are so rare are because few people get them first.

You aren't getting damaged in any way at all, all you have to do is be patient and you will get your pet. Now if you want the cash, then all you are doing here is QQing, ironically not the supposed type of thread, have fun with the game of farm for the money, the game has been more unfair to others esp some vet players who kept deleting until they found out that there was a minipet after a year...

This game is NOT about how much plat you have, so what does it matter that joebloe got his 3rd year mini and your account is only 1 year old????? If you REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY need to have that mini your choice is to either a) wait for your 3rd year bday and pray hard b) buy it from someone else or c) wait until the prices drop and then buy it....geez.
My account is also not yet 3 years old.....I am not having a hissy fit about it, yeah there are some minis I would REAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLYYY like to have , but I dont have the plat and I DO have patience! at some point there will be enough of the around if I was unable to get my own the first way. .....

NOW if you want to complain about minis-----complain more about the uber rare ones not being available to the casual player (but since you mention your riches that doesnt include you OP.....)

Leave the game, good advice. Can't suggest a change without it being considered complaining, and if you complain you have to leave the game. So anyone who has ever complained about the economy, ursan, weapon skins, dungeons, etc., etc. should leave the game. See how silly that sounds.

No, I am asking the community if you agree or disagree with the current birthday present system, and if you agree with me, what suggestions do you have to change it. Personally, I don't really care about minis. Some people have taken this for what it's worth, others seem to want to use it as an excuse to attack me personally. If you don't agree, like I said, I can respect that...in that case state your case and carry on.

i dont see why different minis dont drop other places anyhow. seems kinda silly that the entire market for that type of item is based off of time spent in game.

not including all the odd korean bonus minis and pc mag minis of course..

it'd be cool to see a kraken have a drop rate of .0001 for mini kraken. you know.. something kinda oddball, but equally random for everyone.

otherwise, i say /notsigned to bday mini change

the minipet system is fine as it is. Older players get rewarded. If new players get the newer minipets, then what is the point? what do veterans get? Yet another "Im new and i want the best things in the game right away" thread.
